🌿 Letters from the Quiet Life
Issue 1 — Early Spring
The Rows Know My Name
I walk the same lines
in cracked boots and half-light—
rows of beans whisper
my name between leaves.
They’ve seen every season
of me—
bare-armed in June,
weary in November.
Still, they grow.
Letter from Ellen:
There’s something humbling about planting in the same rows year after year. They know more about me than any person does—my moods, my habits, how I talk to the soil like it might talk back. And maybe it does.
This week, I pressed radish seeds into chilled earth while a hawk circled overhead. The wind was sharp but forgiving. It's that awkward part of spring when everything is beginning but nothing’s quite ready yet.
That’s okay. We aren’t always ready either. We still show up.

🌱 Garden Tip:
Radishes are your cheerleaders—quick to grow, quick to show results. If you're feeling uncertain about your green thumb, plant radishes. Let them remind you what’s possible in just 28 days.
☕Tea to Sip While You Wait for Seeds to Sprout:
– 1 tsp dried mint
– 1 tsp chamomile
– A slice of fresh ginger
Steep 6–8 minutes, breathe deeply, and warm your fingers on the cup.
✍️ Journal Prompt:
What parts of your life are quietly growing beneath the surface?
See you next time, when the air is warmer and the weeds are bolder.
With care,
Ellen🌾
